G%hile I must agreo thst your letter certainly does outline
the "gist" of our conversation, I must cite some reservations shout the
conclusions you reached in that Ictter.
The issue of tow to deal Pith such a problem is very complex, and 8~, this
}+oint in time in our understan~ing of the regulations, I cannot commit
to any particular approach. t'y cor~r~ents should be to}:en as purely advisory
in nature, and shoul:l not be construed to commit myself or the Division in
the future to any particular course of action. Zt is a difficult problem,
and I would suggest ttrat you continue to raise it with tlw people in charge
of the Division, along with any suggestions you may (rave, including our
previous conversations. I am certain that an acceptaLle solution can be
found.
~.
Once again, I would li};e to tharil: you and Dob Diedericlr for your continued
cooperation and for the yunerally good wcRking relatiorrslrip we have enjoyed
over the past three years. I wish you good luck in the future, and hopefully _
we can keep in tolch as our careers ta}:e slightly different paths. ~
sincerely,
Dean R.
