"Buck" Barnhart
3 Sedum Court
Pueblo, Colorado 81001
Dear Mr. Barnhart:
99
3600
(161)
Thank you for your letter which we received on May 14, 1986 regarding the
Beaver Creek clay mine. You have provided an excellent summary of our
on-site meeting. We anticipate having another on-site meeting sometime
this fall. We feel that these periodic meetings are valuable for both
Summit Brick and Tile and the BLM.
We'would like to emphasize the importance of a seeding program once the
elopes are backfilled and contoured. This seeding program should provide
a good variety of native grasses and forties which are preferable to the
weed species w~iich invade naturally. We fefeel seeding the elope is a much
higher priority than transplanting any trees. If any trees are eventually
transplanted, we would prefer seedlings or small (2-3 feet high) trees.
We currently plan on providing you with a seed mixture and application
method before this fall. Thanks again for your interest. If you have any
questions, please contact Dan Grenard of my staff.
5lncerely,
DENNIS D 2ACHMAN
cc: /Joe Welts
P. O.
