BOX 187 <br />1805 COUNTY ROAD s86 <br />ROCKVALE, COLORADO 81244 <br />MATERIALS CONTAINMENT PLAN <br />JULY 1991 <br />DISCHARGE PERMIT NUMBER CO-0037541 <br />GENERAL <br />Pursuant to Sections 6.9.3 (5) and Ib)(b) of the Regulations for <br />the State Discharge Permit System, the Materials Control Plan for <br />Twin Pines No. 2 Mine is set forth herein. Materials on the sites <br />(Mine Site and Coal Sales Site) which could have a detrimental <br />impact on waters of the State, are limited to Fuel, Hydraulic <br />Fluids, and Lubricating Oils. Quantities of the materials on site <br />are as follows: <br />MINE SITE COAL SALES COMMENTS <br />----------------------------------------------------------------- <br />----------------------------------------------------------------- <br />DIESEL FUEL 500 GALS. 500 GALS ELEVATED TANKS <br />GASOLINE O 500 GALS ELEVATED TANK <br />HYDRAULIC OIL 165 GALS. 0 55 GALLDN DRUMS <br />LUBRICATING OIL 110 GALS. 0 55 GALLON DRUMS <br />EMPTY DRUMS b EA. <br />Areas have been set aside for storage and use of the above <br />materials. Containment dikes surround the use areas which will <br />contain the material stored within. Storm run-off is diverted <br />around the storage sites. All run-off from the sites is contained <br />and passes through sedimentation ponds before entering an <br />ephemeral stream bed. Discharge Points 002 and 003 are 0.75 <br />miles upstream from Oak Creek, a perennial stream. Discharge <br />Paint No. 1 is 2.4 miles upstream from Oak Creek. All points <br />discharge down stream from water supply intakes on Oak Creek. <br />(See III.(b)(2) of the Discharge Permit). Lewis Gulch (Discharge <br />Points 2, 3, and 4) and South Oak Creek (Discharge Point 1>, are <br />generally dry antl flow only as a result of severe thunder storms. <br />
