Mr. Peter O'Connor
June 30, 1988
Page 4
D. Downstream Embankment Slope
Vegetation appears somewhat thicker on this
slope than on the upstream slope. Erosion
does not appear to be a problem due to the
relatively short slope and limited area
exposed to runoff. The only significant
runoff from the haulroad ditches occurs in a
controlled downdrain on the North abutment of
the embankment to the "Tie Access Road"
culvert. No cracking, bulging, or other
signs of stress were noted.
III. Conclusion
There appears to have been no noticeable change in
the embankment structure since the last annual
inspection of June 4, 1987. Vegetation is growing
on the side slopes. The embankment is stable and
the underlying rock fill is functioning as
expected.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this
report please contact mie by telephone (602) 677-5272 or
writing ti~P~~~1s office.
- - G .......... !.!4.
~ ~ • •~' 7 ~'~,~,~"°'~`~ 3 0 1986
~.~••~ c,:~o°; JUN
Jame§~~``•s8~~ ,. ~ ~ P.E.
Colors ~,g•17627, Senior Engineer
Seneca~~!'~~eabody Coal Company
c.
