A variance from contemporaneous reclamation for Auger Area E is no longer:
necessayy. The azea, last mined in 1985, had been lefr open to facilitate future underground mine
pottalfaceups.
The so]id waste disposal area has not been regraded. The disposal azea, a previously mined -
Wadge azea pit, is currently in use. The variance granted for the solid waste disposal azea
remains appropriate.
SECTION VI -BONDING SUMMARY
The Division currently holds a total of $11,673,859.00 in corporate sureties for the reclamation
performance bond at the Seneca II Mine. Of that total, $10,182,123.00 applies to Permit Number
C-80-005. The remainder applies to areas mined prior to the issuance of Permit Number C-80-
005. The performance bond liability for the current permit azea has been established at
$4,781,174.00. Since the effective date of Permit Renewal No. 3 (February 17, 1997) there have
been no revisions to the permit to require an increase in liability. Therefore, the Division has
determined that the performance bond held by the Division is adequate to cover reclamation of
the site in accordance with the approved reclamation plan.
