Long
Div ismn Duenrn
This letter is written as a follow-up to our conversation of last
Friday afternoon, December 9, 1994. Just prior to that telephone
call, Shawn Smith relayed the following concerns to me, as
apparently expressed by Randy Acres sometime earlier in the week:
1.) -EFCI Concern- EFCI has offered to grade the lower Chen's Hill
road ditch, and build an outer berm along that road, both
near the entry gate to control drainage and erosion along that
road, which is now diverting water and sediment into the EFCI
Sediment Pond No. 5.
-DMG Response- This proposal is fine; however, we request that
EFCI delay any work until at least Thursday (December 15,
1994) because members of our AML group will be on site that
day to document certain site conditions, including the subject
ditch. Please do not disturb the existing ditch configuration
until our AML staff can make their needed observations.
2.) -EFCI Concern- The GEC reclamation work apparently resulted in
the destruction of approximately 12 permit boundary markers
along the East Pit road. These were apparently standard metal
fence posts, and they were apparently painted orange.
-DMG Response- The DMG will obtain 15 such posts, along with
orange spray paint. These materials will be delivered to EFCI
by our AML staff this Thursday. We request that EFCI complete
the painting, and installation. We apologize for the
inconvenience.
