Long <br />Division Direnor <br />ON THE PERMIT RENEWAL <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) bas scheduled a <br />Formal Public Hearing before the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (Board) for <br />consideration of issues regarding the permit renewal for the Golden Eagle Mine, <br />Permit No. C-81-013. The subject of the hearing will be issues brought forward in the <br />three letters from Raton West/Baldwin Ltd to the Division, dated February 22, 1994, <br />February 25, 1994, and April 5, 1994. The hearing will be during the Board's regularly <br />scheduled monthly meeting on May 25-26, 1994 in Room 318, Centennial Building, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado. The meeting will convene at 9:00 a.m. on both <br />says. <br />The hearing was requested by a representative of Raton West/Baldwin Ltd. The <br />Golden Eagle Mine, and underground coal operation, is located approximately 20 miles <br />west of Trinidad, Colorado, in Las Animas County, along Highway 12. <br />Copies of the permit renewal application and related documentation are available for <br />review at the office of the Colorado Division of NTinerals and Geology, Room 215, <br />Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, CO 80203. <br />M:\O65\amm\naoeejjd <br />
