Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (Continued) <br />(d) Where annual site inspections are shown in <br />the plan to be impractical for inactive <br />mining sites due to the remote location and <br />inaccessibility of the site, site <br />inspections required under this part shall <br />be conducted at appropriate intervals <br />specified in the plan, but, in no case leas <br />than once in 3 years. <br />(5) Consistency with other plans. Storm water <br />pollution prevention plane may reflect <br />requirements ,f or Spill Prevention Control and <br />Countermeaeuze (SPCC) plane developed for the <br />facility unfier section 311 of the CWA or Best <br />Management~Practices (BMP) Programs otherwise <br />required 'by an NPDES permit for the facility as <br />long as,~auch requirement is incorporated into <br />the atdrm water pollution prevention plan. <br />(6) Additional Requirements for Salt Storagg. <br />Storage piles of salt used for deicing or other <br />commercial or industrial purposes and which <br />cfenerate a storm water discharge associated with <br />~induatrial activity which is discharged to <br />.;~ .'waters of the United States shall be enclosed or <br />a ~.,'~ covered to prevent exposure to precipitation, <br />`~, ~ except for exposure resulting from adding or <br />` , ~~ ~ removing materials from the pile. Dischargers <br />shall demonstrate compliance with this provision <br />~.' ,% as expeditiously as practicable, but in no event <br />f~- later than October 1, 1995.
