Suspensions of operations and production are authorized by section <br />39 of the Mineral Leasing Act of 1920 (IvII.A), as amended, and the implementing regulations <br />at 43 CFR 3483.3. <br />On October 10, 1995, the Interstate Commerce Commission approved abandonment of the <br />local branch line railroad from Walden to the Colorado/Wyoming state line, effectively cutting <br />off the mine's market access.
