The results of the laboratory analyses conducted on these samples are summarized in Table 3,
below.
TABLE 4
SUMMARY OF LABORATORY ANALYSES-EFMC SAMPLING PROGRAM
~` ~
~N
Range of Range of
Parameter Values Parameter Values
I`? pH 7.2-7.8 NO3-N (ppm) 1.0-7.0
~~,~y Electrical conductivity (mmhos/cm) 0.6-2.3 P (ppm) 0.5-4.7
~~ Percent organic matter 1.5-13.9 K (ppm) 88.8-172.0
Lime estimate Low Zn (ppm) 0.8-15.9
r,•1
~:~ Texture Sandy clay-sandy clay loam Mn (ppm) 5.1-11.9
Fe (ppm) 13.5-41.0 Cu (ppm) 1.7-4.6
~~ All values, for which suitability parameters have been developed, are classed as "suitable" with
respect to topsoil substitute status (Schafer 1979, Sutton et al. 1981, Wyoming Department of
Environmental Quality 1989).
3 2 July, 1994 Samg~ing Prograrr~fSam~ling Program VIIII
The results of the July, 1994 sampling program are summarized in Table 5, below, which depicts the
ranges of values for all parameters for which the 60 samples were analyzed. A discussion detailing these
results is also provided along with comments pertinent to the topsoil substitute suitability and reclamation
pp~~ potential of the materials sampled. It should be noted that there are no suitability guidelines for the
~i chemical parameters NO3-N, P, K, Fe, Mn, lime estimate and percent organic matter. The results of the
ll~~ analyses for these parameters have been included to demonstrate the characteristics of the sampled
r5
8
