York-Feirn
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. York-Feirn,
~I I I I~' I~ I I~ II~~ ~I~
~~CC~~~v
MAR ,~ 5 1992
Min
Reclamation ~!-d jon
March 25, 1992
I am attaching copies of three letters which I believe have a material bearing on the
issues that you raised in your Minerals Program Inspection Reports following your November
26, 199], and February 13, 1992 inspections of the Gold Hill Mill facilities and the Cash mine
permit area.
The first letter is dated April 16, 1990, and is directed from Mr. James S. Munn
(Colina Oro Molina's attorney) to Mr. Rodney Knutson (Mi Vida Enterprises' attorney). The
third paragraph of the first page is quoted in its entirety below:
"If I understand the contentions of Mazk Steen correctly, he
asserts the mill is permitted only to process ore associated with
Gold Hill properties. While I have not confirmed this, it is my
understanding this refers to existing permits as restrictive and not
permitting custom milling. If this be the case, perhaps some
modification of the permits should be sought and obtained in
order that custom milling can proceed. In this way the mill can
become operative and productive while awaiting availability of
ore delivered from Gold Hill properties."
The second letter is from Mr. Knutson and was sent to Mr. Munn on May 4, 1990. It
describes the requirements that would be imposed upon the Gold Hill Mill prior to processing
custom ore.
The third letter was sent by Mr. Munn to Mr. Knutson on July 12, 1990, and contains
a reference to COM, Inc.'s desire to "put the mill into operation productively in milling ore
from other sources."
