O, <br />Reclamation <br />On October 9, 2001, four contractors attended a site visit to assist in preparing their bids <br />to place cover material on CRDA-2 and to regrade and place cover material on at CRDA-1, with <br />seeding and mulching to be completed in late Fall 2001 or early spring 2002. The contractors <br />also will submit bids to regrade and cover the Roadside Refuse Disposal Area and to complete <br />the upper diversion ditch. Bids aze d O1. ~~ <br />The preparation plant is ~mpletely demolished. ~liual grading of the <br />is complete. ~ ~ j <br />The North Decline Water Handling System contract has been awarded in accordance with <br />requests from the Division, On October 3, 2001, the Water Quali[y Control Division issued a <br />discharge permit to Powderhom that is effective on December I, 2001. Powderhom will request <br />interim authority to discharge from the Water Quality Control Division. Powderhom anticipates <br />that drilling will begin on October 29th and that the new water handling system will be <br />completed by year end. <br />A contract for the demolition and removal of the powerline and substations at the <br />Roadside property was signed by Powderhor on July 6, 2001, and should be completed by <br />November 30, 2001.A contract was awarded for the removal of the remaining stmctures <br />associated with the overland conveyor and the structures at the North-P-ortal-- - <br />The recl ation of th - enslon n g ' 1-be delayed so Powderhom has time to <br />maximize the com ~mi azly, Powderhom has deferred removal of <br />[he office complex pending the determination of commercial interest in these facilities. Removal <br />of the Unit Train Loadout has been deferred to accommodate the executed Lodestar agreement to <br />ship coal to TVA at the Powderhor loadout. Reclamation of the top of CRDA-1 will be <br />deferred unti12003/2004 so a refuse pile is open to accept coal and refuse material from other <br />reclamation activities. The Division and the Board have been informed of these potential delays, <br />and Powderhom has subnmitted a minor revision to the Division to address these issues. <br />Powderhom continues to seek to resolve this issue with the Division <br />~ T e aggregate value of the wo ~ feted-and-authorized-thrn.~h <br />millio .The re rec amation obligation includes strctural demolitic <br />Nort Portal scheduled for completion in 2003 and reclamation of CRDA-1 <br />com lesion in 2004.
