Co <br />III III IIIIIIIIIIIII <br />999 <br />E~~A <br />S CoalCompeny Seneca Coal Company <br />March 6, 1997 <br />Ms. Erica Crosby <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203-2273 <br />RFCEI~i~~~ <br />MAR 1 ~ 1997 <br />Division p, ,,,,,,~, , <br />RE: Seneca II-W Mine Permit C-82-057, Flume Disturbance ""''C01U9Y <br />Dear Ms. Crosby: <br />This letter is to document our phone conversation earlier today <br />and the following events which occurred within the Seneca II-W <br />permit boundary along the Tie-Across Haul Road. <br />I was notified yesterday afternoon that construction work had <br />started on the installation of a flume near the TAHRC-5 culverts <br />and that the disturbance was located within our permit boundary. <br />I called Tom Petrosky, Senior Land Agent, Cottonwood Land <br />Company. He informed me that the flume was being installed for <br />the Big Elk Project and he was not aware that this site was <br />within our permit boundary. He called back later in the day and <br />stated that the flume was removed and will be relocated such that <br />it is out of the permit area. The Division was contacted <br />yesterday afternoon and Joe Dudash was made aware of the <br />situation. <br />Tom stopped by our office this morning and was given a copy of <br />Exhibit 13-3, Surface Water Control Plan (TAHR), so that a new <br />site could be located. He said that he will take care of <br />reclaiming the disturbance that occurred, later this spring. He <br />received a copy of the approved seed mix for this area, based on <br />the data shown on Exhibit 22-2, Post Disturbance Vegetation - <br />Haul Road Corridor. <br />Should you or any other members of the Division have any <br />questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to <br />contact either myself or Tom at (970)870-8733. <br />Sincerely, <br />~(,(.~4.~,QJV .
