Box 467
Golden, CO 80202
Attn: Don MacDonald
RE: Groundwater monitoring, Enterprise Compressor Station
Weld County, Colorado
Dear Don:
l he following is a sttrnmary of Snyder Oil's activities at the Enterprise Compressor Station:
In 1997, several thousand cubic yazds of petroleum impacted soils were removed from the site.
In May 1998 an air spazging/soil vapor extraction (AS/SVE) system was installed at the site to
remediate impacted soil and groundwater at the site. The system has been operational since early
)une 1998.
Quarterly groundwater monitoring has been performed since 1996, In the third quarter of 1998
the ben2ene levels in monitoring well MW-5 started to increase likely due to the mounding
caused by the nearby AS/SVE system. This well is located-on the property boundary
downgradient of the remediation system.
None of the BTEX compounds have been detected in monitoring well M W-9 which is located on
Coors Property. The new well would be located between MW-5 and MW-9 to provide early
indications if the plume is moving beyond the property boundary at concentrations that exceed
state regulatory standards.
Snyder Oil would like to drill another monitor well as indicated on the enclosed plat sometime in
the near future. Please let me know if our plans are acceptable at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
-------1_ ~S6 V
Doug as A.
