Discussion of Effluent Limitations:
1. BODS, TSS, and Oil S Grease: Limits from the State
"Regulations for Effluent Limitations" will apply for BODS
(30/45 mg/1 ), TSS (75/110 mg/1, adjusted for aerated lagoons),
and Oil and Grease (10 mg/1, no visible sheen}.
2. pH: The Water Quality Standard in this stream segment for pH is
a range of 6.5 - 9.0 s.u. These concentrations will be applied
to the discharge to protect aquatic life.
3. Fecal Colif:orm and Total Residual Chlorine (TRC): These
parameters may be limited by the Water Quality Standards for the
receiving ettream. The mass balance equation shown in Section
VII-B was ~:sed to calculate the allowable effluent
concentrations that would not cause the water quality standards
to be violated. These concentrations are shown as the values
for M2 in 'fable VII-2. The values for Q1, Q2 and Q3 are
the same in all of the calculations for water quality limited
parameters and are:
Ql 21 cfs
Q2 = O.C93 cfs
Q3 = 21.093 cfs
Values fot t91 and M3 vary depending on the background stream
quality data (M1, Section III.B.1) and the applicable water
quality standard (M3, Section II I. A.3 ). These values are also
shown in Table VII-2 along with the calculated limitations(M2).
Table VII-2 -- Summary of Mass Balance Calculations
Parameter
Fecal Total
Pollutant Coliform Residual Chlorine
Concentration 6/100 ml mg/1
Ml
2
0.0
Mg
200 0.003
M2 45,000 0.68
