G:-eystone Development Consultants. Inc.
October 30, 1987
Page 3.
Backfill
Upon completion of repairs to the entrance structure and entry,
the areas above and adjacent will be backfilled. The material
will be placed and compacted with a front-end loader. Backfill
material will be shaped to meet the existing contour of the
mountain side and to prevent future slides. Any boulders
excavated during the process will be replaced at the toe of the
backfill area to increase stability.
Reclamation
It iT nticipated that all material excavated will be replaced as
backfill. If any material remains, the Highway Department has
agreed to use it as fill for road repair in the area. In either
case, all temporary storage areas will be cleaned following
construction activities.
Upon completion of construction, all disturbed areas will be
reclaimed in accordance with the approved reclamation plan. This
will include seeding with the approved seed mixture and mulching
with straw.
Schedule
AsAs m~ oned during our onsite meeting, a contractor has been
selected to perform the maintenance activities and is scheduled
to begin during the week of November 2, 1987. As a result, your
approval of our plan is imperative.
The proposed activities are planned to take approximately
two to three weeks, depending upon the structural intergrade of
the existing slabs. All activities should be completed within 30
to 60 days.
