While GCC Rio Grande is scheduled to
provide the Division and the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board with detailed written and
oral annual project updates in the coming weeks, we are writing separately at this time to inform
the Division that A&A Drilling & Blasting Inc. will be conducting limited, construction-related
blasting at GCC's Pueblo County site. All blasting materials will be utilized in connection with
project construction activities, and not for cement manufacturing. Blasting for construction
purposes will continue intermittently through the end of this year.
Copies of all pertinent federal and state permits maintained by A&A Drilling & Blasting,
Inc. are attached. GCC Rio Grande expects this limited, construction-related blasting effort to
- conform to all state and federal requirements, including all pertinent aspects of the Blasting Plan
GCC developed in connection with its state reclamation permit. GCC will separately notify the
Division when blasting for general mining and cement manufacturing purposes commences later
next year.
Please let me know if the Division has any questions or would like to discuss this further.
Sincerely, ~~ QQDD
~J~
Brian McGill
DN32117706.5
