September 19, 1980, Dan Cocson (attorney for Jolin Slovek) forwards copy <br />of a letter to stafF addressed to Weld County from the Army Corps <br />issuing a Cease and Desist Order to Weld County f.or operating in the <br />St. Vrain in violation of the Corps 404 permit requirements. <br />NOTE: before the application was approved, a 404 permit application had <br />been submitted by tlic County to allow for placement of fill to <br />create a new buffer between tl~e St. Vrain and previous excavations, <br />and to allow armoring of the new buffer with rip-rap. A 404 permit <br />is pending due to Division of Wildlife protest over the nature of <br />the rip-rap being used. <br />19. September 15, 1980, Wcld County requests a continuance from the September <br />Board meeting to the October 23rd Board meeting to allow for additional <br />time for public comment. <br />20. Adequacy letter sent out October 9, 1980. <br />21. October 14, 1980, Division of Water Resources comments forwarded to <br />[Jeld County. <br />22. October 15, 1980, County zoning approval confirmed for }lokestra in letter <br />from Thomas E. Ho nn, Zoning Administrator. <br />23. October 20, 1980, letter from Dan Corson objecting to the permitting of <br />the operation as to: <br />a. Rule L.57 (Section 120); <br />b. Rule 1.56(8) with attached hydrologist's report; and, <br />c. Rule 1.56(5) adjacent property within 200 feet of an operation. <br />24. October 22, 1980, Weld County replies to my adequacy letter of <br />October 9, 1980. <br />25. October 23, 1980, Board meeting. <br />a. Objections heard. <br />b. Too many stipulaCiuns due to adequacy problems resulted in <br />operator requesting a continuance. <br />c. clearing was not specified. <br />26. 2nd and 3rd adequacy replies from Weld County received November 3, 1980 <br />and November 7, 1980, respectively. <br />27. November 12, 1480, special Board meeting held. Cary Slovek presented <br />his concerns. Previous adequacy problems resolved. Application was <br />approved. Tape recorder broken, Minutes are available. <br />28. January 20, 1981, Lew [foods replies to request for another meeting due [o <br />lack of taped Minutes (see Dan Corson letter of December 16, 1980). The <br />request was denied. <br />
