[CHRONOLOGY I <br />King Coal Mine <br />Federal Leases C-29125 and COC-49465 <br />Mining Plan Decision Document 999 <br />Doc Date:12/11/2001 <br />DATE EVENT <br />0 <br />March 18, 1997 National King Coal, LLC(NKC) submitted the <br />permit application package (PAP) under the <br />approved Colorado State Program to the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology <br />(DMG) for a permit revision for the Mine. <br />March 18, 1997 DMG determined that the PAP was <br />administratively complete for public review <br />and comment. <br />April 25, 1997 The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and <br />Enforcement (OSM) received the PAP. <br />May 17, 1997 NKC published in the Durango Herald the <br />fourth consecutive weekly notice that its <br />complete PAP was filed with DMG. <br />August 18, 1997 DMG approved the PAP. <br />August 18, 1997 The Bureau of Land Management provided its <br />findings and recommendations on the approval <br />of the mining plans. <br />September 10, 1997 The State Historic Preservation Office <br />provided its comments on the mining plans. <br />September 23, 1997 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service receives <br />OSM's determination of no adverse impact on <br />threatened or endangered species. <br />October 7, 1997 OSM's Western Regional Coordinating Center <br />recommended to the Director, OSM, that the <br />mining plan actions be approved. <br />
