Dept. o} Natural Resoerces <br />The Boulder County Zoning Division contacted Quarry Superi~itendent <br />Marv Berg of the Martin btarietta Cement Western Division, southeast <br />o£ Lyons, Colorado on 30 January 1981 to determine that the perimeter <br />open mining ongoing along the south Martin Marietta Cement property <br />line is thirteen (13) years ahead of phase. Mr. Berg indicated that <br />this revision was necessary to save the future high fuel costs by <br />delaying close-in mining until later years. Perimeter off-site <br />development was also described as being better buffered by immediate <br />reclamation protections in this area. <br />To confirm the above and complete the Boulder County files, please <br />forward the July 1980 correspondence from the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board to Martin Marietta Cement, plus any specific operational detail <br />to support the revision approval. <br />Sincerely <br />e~..sn ~G-Q. <br />Thomas J.
