No. M-77-451
Dear Mr. Dillie:
For your consideration in determining that the Ike No. 1 does not meet the
criteria for a designated mine classification, the enclosed documents are presented for your
perusal. The most important is a discussion by Dick White (Cotter geologist) of uranium-
vanadium chemistry. The other enclosure is the Stormwater Management Plan for D.O.E
lease C-SR-I I which contains the proposed facilities permitted under permit M-77-451 (the
Ike #1 waste pile has been reclaimed). Since the proposed activity has not yet commenced,
it is not addressed in the Management Plan; however, for your convenience I have located
the mine site on the Management Plan map. You will note the planned diversion ditch to
prevent stormwater run-on to the waste pile (note also Mr. White's comments regarding
Stormwater Management).
If, after your review of the enclosed, a meeting is still needed please call me
or Steve Landau at the above number to arrange a meeting.
z
rely,
Donald L.
