Enclosed <br />you will find a copy of Air Emission Permit No. 89CS333-2 and a [9aterial Safety <br />Data Sheet for magnesium chloride. Magnesium chloride is an unreeLCtive, <br />inflammable, non-toxic, non-hazardous, stable solution. <br />No more than 4,500 gallons of an approximately 32~ solution of magnesium <br />chloride is kept in the tank at any one time. The tank is set orl two I-beams <br />aber3t three feet apart on top of compacted fill. A three foot high earthen <br />berm i.s strategically placed on the downslope and sides of the te.nk. The <br />earthen berm is designed to contain more than 700 ft3 of solution. <br />A booster box ciir:ectly relays the magnesium chloride solution through insulated <br />2" PVC pipe to the drop box to be applied on the ore as it comes off of CV-1. <br />The magnesium chloride solution is used only when cold weather ccnditiens <br />require it and no more than 5 minutes per hour. BMRI also uses n.agnesium <br />chloride as a dust suppressant on the haul roads four times per year.
