GREAT DIVIDE ENGINEERING
AND SURVEYING
P. 0. Box 605
404 N. 19th Street
Phone 303 275.8881
Canon City, Colorado 81212
Li Chen
RE: GEC PERMIT APPLICATION NO C-037-81
HAUL ROAD A CROSSING NEWI.IN CREEK
February 3, 1983
Recently, our firm made an on-site
sCallation under Haul Road A, where it
permit boundary of GEC Minerals, Inc.
follows:
inspection of the culvert in-
crosses Newlin Creek within the
Our findings from this inspection
1. The 72" culvert was installed at the design elevation and grade
as specified in out engineering design prepared in May, 1982.
2. The 72" culvert was moved approximately 20 feet east, per our
construction staking direction, to provide for better low flow
hydraulics within Newlin Creek
3. The road profile over the culvert was checked for elevation and
found to be consistent with the design referenced above.
4. A dirt safety berm had to be removed, from the downstream side of
the Haul Road, so that the depressed portion of the roadway could
function as an overflow weir, as designed. This berm must remain
removed so that design flows and velocities can pass over the roadway
unimpeded.
This inspection verified that this crossing was installed per our
design of May, 1982, and therefore should be capable of safely passing the
10 year-24 hour storm expected from this drainage basin.
F
NUMBER
i~~~s
Truly yours,
6
