SUMMARY:
• The vegetation of the site is primarily composed of two units, the
natural areas and the disturbed areas. The natural areas tend to have a
low diversity vegetation dominated by Blue Brama on most areas and Big
Hluestem and Sand Bluestem on other areas.
The disturbed areas range from mining areas where no vegetation
occurs to piles of waste and soil where weeds are especially abundant
and only a few invading grasses can be found to an old field area where
dominance is by weeds but invasion by natives from surrounding areas is
occurring.
Revegetation should capitalize on the capability of weeds to
protect the site from wind erosion while permitting the desirable
species to grow in among the weeds. However, close monitoring of the
desirable species should be done to insure that weeds do not excessively
hinder the growth. If such occurs then a mild weed control program
should be implemented to reduce the weed growth but not eliminate it.

F'AGE 6 OF 6 - EXHIBIT ~
