During the second quarter (i.e., March to June, 2003) sampling will be conducted <br />monthly. <br />• Homestake, at its option, may also conduct sampling at additional locations in Windy <br />Gulch, but these locations will not be used to assess whether performance goals are being <br />met. <br />• The sampling program for the years 2004 to 2005 will be evaluated once the results from <br />the initial year (2003) are available. It is expected that quarterly sampling will be <br />conducted during these years, although Homestake may continue to conduct more <br />frequent sampling during the spring runoff period. <br />• Chemical analyses will be conducted for total concentrations of the constituents listed in <br />Table 1 above. <br />• The need for sampling beyond 2005 will be addressed based on the results from the first <br />three years. <br />Homestake agrees to compare measured water quality against the performance goals. However, <br />it should be recognized that attainment of performance goals might not be reached immediately <br />after the proposed reclamation activities in Windy Gulch are completed.
