Several <br />meetings, delays and extensions by both panics to collect and elaril~~ the modeling reports and other <br />parantcters Icad to a final report heing submitted to the Uivision on Fcbntar}' g"'. 3006. <br />Ploase find a copy of the final review of the modeling and report by our Dr. Harry Posey and Kate <br />Pickti~rd. The review, like the reports submitted, covers tour sites tinder D~tO consideration. Flow•ever, <br />statfwill he addressing each site individually tier its final recommendations. <br />The Division Statl'has carefully reviewed the report and modeling concerning the JD-G \9inc. "Fhe <br />Division finds that Cotter Corporation Itas not satisfactorily demonstrated that the operation does not <br />expose or disturb acid or Iisxic materials in yu;nuities that do not adversely affect hum;ut health. prnpeny <br />or the environment. l-ndcrground mining operations and deposition ol-materials on the surface appear <br />to create the potential Io impact possible ayuifcn in the Parldox Valley area. Intitmtation :uul modeling <br />do not actablish that the potential for ~*roundwatcr degradation does nut exist. The operamr and the <br />Division have a rasponsihility to ensure the +c;ucr quality is not diminished any I'unhcr than what <br />naturalh occurs. Cotter <br />may elect to gather additional gruundw;ucr infomtation, +vhich would support the modeling and <br />demonstrate that toxic materials +vill not come in contact ++ith any Paradise Valley aquifers. 'I'bis <br />additional inti>rntation may lead to mcunsidcration by the Division of the f)1d0 status.
