S. Steel Corporation <br /> On .Iannary 28, 1986, U. S. Steel Corporation filed a =1in;uJ.Shment nf i_ts <br /> interest in coal lease C-C33301 excepting those reserves which are subleased <br /> to k7rand Mesa Properties Company. The lands to remain in the lease were <br /> described in part by a metes and bounds description. <br /> On February 11, 1986, the lessee was notified that regulation 43 CFR <br /> 3471.1-1(b) requires that surveyed lands be described by legal subdivision or <br /> aliquot part thereof. To comply with this requirement, the lessee amended the <br /> land description in the relinquishment to retain all lots containing deposits <br /> subleased to Grand Mesa :roperties Company (copy enclosed) . <br /> Before this relinquishment may be accepted, it must be determined that the <br /> relinquishment will not impair the public interest. that the accrued rentals <br /> and royalties have bee e obl :tions of the lessee under <br /> the regulations and terms of the lease have been me:. <br /> if you have no objections to the acceptance of this relinquishment, may we <br /> have your recommendation on the bonding requirement for the lands remaining in <br /> the lease.
