r .- PRYOR MINE HAUL ROAD CERTIFICATION REPOkT Although I was not present during the actual construction of the haul road, I was able to verify the necessary information to complete a report on the construction. A summary of the important design specifications, each followed by~the relevant comments from the site inspection, is given below. The design specifications are shown on the map entitled "P~yor Mine Haul Road" of the Pryor Mine Permit. The map is dated September 21, 1983 and was developed by J. F. Sato & i Associates. 1. ADEQUATE TOPSOIL AND VEGETATION REMOVAL Thus could not be fully verified during the site inspection; however, it was evident that in some areas the road was installed onbedrock and there was no topsoil to salvage. Minor digging below the road base showed no topsoil below, and the topsoil stockpile appeared adequate to reclaim the entire disturbed area. 2. RDAD WIDTH Specifications show a road width of 24 feet. Site inspection revealed that the width from station i + 60 to 2 + 00 was approximately 21.U feet. The widening was subsequently performed 6y~mine personnel. 3.i CUT-AND_FILL_EMBANKMENT-SLOPES Spcifications show a maximum of 3.0 H 1.0 V fill slopes. The road, as installed, contains (alto 4 feet high) and the slopes are less than noted above. 4. GRADE Specifications show grades of between inspection showed all sections of the limits. S. COMPACTION for any cut and only one minor cut the specification 3.3% and 7.7%. The site road to be between these Nospecification given. Site inspection revealed that the road base was adequately compacted and that the bedrock which was immediately below the road base provided additional strength. During operation of the mine, the road required little maintenance and did not produce ruts or slumps.
