J2p,, pf ,.,,ry~~, a.,~ <br />We have been informed that Occidental Oil Shale has conducted <br />underground activity, including retorting of oil shale at its <br />operation known as Logan Wash. Section 505 of the Water <br />Quality Control Act requires a permit for any activity which <br />would result in the generation, disposal, deposition or dis- <br />charge of any hazardous waste underground. <br />You are requested to submit the data you have available demon- <br />strating whether hazardous waste is being generated or disposed <br />of underground as a result of your activities to the Water <br />Quality Control Commission.
