Diversions and Conveyance of Overland Flow <br />Disturbed area drainage is controlled and contained by several designed containment <br />ditches. Stream Channel Diversions <br />The Bear Coal Company does not propose permanent or temporary diversion of stream <br />channels. Some flood control work was previously approved and performed along the <br />North Fork of the Gunnison River. Sedimentation Ponds <br />All site sediment ponds are designed and constructed in accordance with Rule 4.05.6. <br />Design details aze contained within the approved permit document at Section 4.05.6 <br />and Exhibit 11. <br />Backfilling and grading of the sediment pond at the Bear No. 3 Mine will occur upon <br />successful revegetation of the disturbed area. The flood control berm will be retained <br />at the Beaz No. 3 Mine due to its enhancement of the light residential use land <br />designation of the Beaz No. 3 facilities azea. <br />E. Acid-forming and Toxic-forming Spoil <br />Acid-forming and/or toxic-forming materials have not been identified at the Bear No. 3 <br />Mine. <br />F. Impoundments <br />All site impoundments are in compliance with Rule 4.05.9. Refer to Section II, D, <br />above. <br />G. Surface and Groundwater Monitoring <br />The applicant will conduct monitoring of groundwater in a manner approved by the <br />Division (4.05.13(1)).
