Box 367
357 Mountain View Dirve
Bayfield, Colorado 81122
RE: Renewal of Flint Engineering Temporary Use Permit
Dear Don:
The existing temporary use permit for Flint Engineering expired
on October 31, 1992. On September 2, 1992, Flint Engineering
applied for a Class II land use approval on a site on SH 160B
near Bayfield. Approval for a Class II land use for Flint for
this location was granted by the La Plata Board of County
Commissioners on October 14, 1992. This approval stipulated
that the approved Class II permit was to be for a period not to
exceed two years.
During the permit review by appropriate agencies the Colorado
State Highway Division made the following comment:
"Please have the developer complete the enclosed access
application and submit it to the Department for review."
After the approval of the Class II Land Use Permit the Colorado
State Highway Division indicated they would require accel/decel
lanes to be constructed for this site, even though the use was
temporary. It is the opinion of staff that such a requirement
makes a temporary use unfeasible at that site.
This situation was discussed at the Gosney Neighborhood
Compatibility Meetinq held on October 21, 1992. As the minutes
and audio tape of this meeting indicate, adjacent property
owners attending the meeting were not in opposition to
extending the temporary permit, provided it did not go beyond
January 31, 1992.
