The Division
inspected the McNulty Cinder Pit on October 13, 1993 and found two
problems which required corrective actions to be completed by
January of this year:
1. Boundary markers and an entrance sign were not evident
during the inspection. '
Corrective Action: Mark the permit boundaries and post an
entrance sign pursuant to Rule 6.7 of the Mineral Rules and
Regulations.
2. Approximately 35 unlabeled drums and 60 smaller buckets of
suspected waste oil were present in the pit area.
Corrective Action: This waste material must be properly
disposed and verification sent to the Division. Verification
will consist of a completed manifest, chain of custody or
similar documentation.
Your phone message today stated that the necessary corrective
actions have been completed. However, the Division still needs to
receive a copy of the manifest or related paperwork verifying that
the waste oil containers have been properly disposed and
photographs of the entrance sign and boundary markers. The
photographs need to show permanent markers such as wooden or steel
fence posts which will withstand cattle or weather abuse and which
