Your request proposes to
modify the original plugging and abandonment plan for Well 20-12 in a manner that will allow
conversion to a time domain reflectometry (TDR) and temperature monitoring well. The
modified plan continues to cal] for isolation of the cavity by cementing the short string casing
from near its total depth (at the top of the cavity) up to the Dissolution Surface and cementing the
long string casing from near its total depth up to the top of the casing. A 2-3/8 inch or 2-7/8 inch
tubing with a TDR cable strapped to the outside will be placed in the portion of the short string
casing immediately above the Dissolution Surface and will be cemented in place. The cement
will be displaced out of the tubing to provide for access with a temperature logging tool to be
used for detecting any upward movement of fluid associated with cavity subsidence or problems
associated with the mining of adjacent cavities.
Pa e 1 01 Specialist: ESC
g ~imit #: M1999002 .
Cla~s : E72riettt,Q (,v~S
mom: EAR
~Ac.
