I am
confounded that I only learned of this application from my next door neighbor there
in Durango on Alarch 2;. .Although I reside in Atlanta Ga. S months a year, all mail
is forwarded to me there, and I received no such notification. I a~ncur with another
neighbor, AIr. Noise polution and VISUaI pOlLltlOn - In light of the chan~in~ reaidentual
profile of that part of the valley and the pmpc,-t}• values slated thereto.
2. Loss of prime irrigation water from thc• i1'allace ditc}t, no~t~ }ugh and dry
due to the diversion of the east channel of the r~nlRlaS P.iver, attributable
to the gravel operation \'[5' O:at2r ClohtS inClUde .2~ cfc from that ditch.
[have IS to 20 acres that are not irrigable as a result. `,everal neighbors
have lost water from that ditch and these damages should be remedied
and similar potential impacts to others must be protected before they are
allo«•ed to continue.
3. Negative effects upon the water Iluality and the «ater table, ir. addiliun to
the possible exces, ive and irregular stream baak errosion caused by the Pit.
