will be mined by dragline As such, these spoil materials will remain buried more than 50 feet by the <br />upper spoil materials that will be hauled back into the pit (from the truck/shovel operation) from <br />temporary overburden stockpiles TS West and TS East. <br />F. Impoundments -Rule 4.05.9 <br />Cattle (and wildlife) watering impoundments have been approved on the reclaimed mine area (see <br />Exhibit 7, Hydrology Information, Item 15, Volume 2C ofthe Permit). Other impoundments within <br />the permit area are the approved sediment ponds (see paragraph D above), water treatment basins, <br />and the Taylor Pump Holding Pond (which existed prior to August 3, 1977). <br />G. Ground and Surface Water Monitoring -Rule 4.05.13 <br />The surface and ground water monitoring plan is found in Section 4.05.13, Volume 12. This is the <br />comprehensive plan for the entire Colowyo mine site. Monitoring includes discharges from <br />sediment ponds that are permitted by the Colorado Discharge Permit System through the Water <br />Quality Control Division; in-stream monitoring and sampling ofstreams in the permit and adjacent <br />area; and monitoring and sampling of alluvial wells, where appropriate and necessary. <br />1. The applicant will conduct monitoring of ground water in a manner approved by the Division <br />(4.05.13(1)). As a result of approval of the South Taylor Permit Revision (PR-02) the Division will <br />require the applicant comply with the following stipulation: <br />STIPULATION 5 <br />WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER THE APPROVAL OF PERMIT REVISION 02 THE COLOWYO <br />COAL COMPANY WILL SUBMIT A MINOR REVISION TO THE PERMIT TO INCLUDE TWO <br />ADDITIONAL GROUND WATER MONITORING SITES. THE SITES TO BE INCLUDED ARE <br />A7 AND A8, BOTH ALONG THE WEST FORK OF GOODSPRING CREEK. <br />2. The applicant will conduct monitoring of surface water in a manner approved by the Division <br />(4.05.13(2)). As a result of approval of the South Taylor Permit Revision (PR-02) the Division will <br />require the applicant comply with the following stipulation: <br />STIPULATION 6 <br />WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER THE APPROVAL OF PERMIT REVISION 02 THE COLOWYO <br />COAL COMPANY WILL SUBMIT A MINOR REVISION TO THE PERMIT TO INCLUDE ONE <br />ADDITIONAL SURFACE WATER MONITORING SITE.
