X
Remarks:
The inspection included meeting with the operator, taking pictures and recording personal observations. The
inspection included only currently active or open dig sites.
~~
The operator was actively excavating at Dig Site A on Tree Root Ext. and Stealth unpatented mining claims.
The operator stated that he would be most likely be on site for approximately 2 weeks, but the dig site could
remain open if adequate mineralization is discovered during prospecting. The site was clean and orderly with
the exception of trash left by another forest user. The operator said that he would remove this trash once he
showed it to me. The excavator operator seemed to be working in a safe and responsible manner to cause the
least surface resource damage. Tree removal was being avoided, when possible, and silt fencing was
adequately placed downhill from the open dig site. The operator had adequately separated waste rock from
topsoil. The site was recently open and currently active, but should it remain open beyond two weeks the
operator should label and seed topsoil for the winter, ensure silt fencing is adequately secured, and install safety
fencing for public safety.
