Lochhead
6ecWive Dueclor
Michael B. Long
Division Director
I have reviewed Mr. Hardaway's letter bearing the above "Reference". I offer the
following comments for your consideration.
Page 2, ¶ 2
Mr. Hardaway notes that the placement of non lime amended run-of-mine
ore is compensated for by adding lime to the crushed ore at a higher rate.
I would appreciate Mr. Hardaway's specifying how this compensation is
procedurally accomplished? Is it prorated throughout the pile? Is it done
on a truck load by truck load basis? How is it accomplished
operationally? Is the compensated material in immediate proximity to the
non lime amended run-of-mine ore placement?
Page 2, ¶ 7
The comparative tests of "crushed ore" versus "run-of-mine" ore
percolation "break through" reported Mr. Hardaway a very convincing. The
run-of-mine appears significantly higher in transmissivity, which should
enhance eventual flushing detoxification. Who supervised and who
performed these telling tests? What were the specific testing and
monitoring protocols observed? Mr. Hardaway will have to submit
documentation of the tests to complete his informational submittal.
