1988 to 1992 Permit Renewal
3.1.8 Surface Mining Near Underground Mining
During [he time period 1988 to 1991, Trapper Mining Inc. will be conducting
mining activities within 500 horizontal fee[ of [he underground mine w rkings
of Eagle No. 5 Mine, controlled by Empire Energy Corporation. These under-
ground workings, shown on Map M-8, C Pit Blasting Plan, are mostly abandoned
room and pillar mining areas for which an estimated 85z extraction was accom-
plished. No currently-active headings fall within 500 fee[ of the planned
blasting ace a, although during the permit term the possibility exists.
Safety of underground w rkera will not be compromised as more than 800 verti-
cal fee[ separate the bottom of the lowest mineable seam of Colt Pi[ from [he
highest mineable se ern of Empire's underground w rkings. To insure safety of
underground workers, blasting within 500 feet of [he underground w rkings will
be done during Empire's shift changes when none of [heir wrkers are in the
area.
No other aspects of mining activities conducted by Trapper Mining Inc. will
effect the underground mining operations. No surface water should enter the
underground w rkings due to [he extensive vertical separation of the two
mining operations.
