Shelton t
January 27, 1981 Director
T0: Mined Land Reclamation Board
FROM: Jim Herron
SUBJECT: No Problem Technical Revision
The following is a brief summary of the contents of the r.o problem technical
revision. The information is accurate as of January 27, 1981.
Operator: Dorchester Colomine Coal Con~pany
File No.: 79-60
Operation Type: Underground Coal
General Location: Approximately 15 miles north of Fruita, Colorado in Mesa Co.
Disturbed Acreage: 53.6 acres
Description of Technical
Revision: Dorchester Colomine Coal Company has requested a technical
revision be approved for a septic system and a potable
water tank for the Fruita mines. This involves the in-
stallation of two septic tanks, (one for each mine), a
14,000 gallon potable water tank, and a leach field. lJater
for the septic system is hauled to the site and stored
in the water tank.
The water tank and both septic tanks, including septic
lines, will be placed in areas that are presently disturbed.
The leach field will be located in an area that has not
been disturbed previously. However it will be within
the current permit area. The plan calls for salvage and
replacement of 6 inches of topsoil along the leach line.
Following completion the leach field will be seeded with
their approved seed mix.
Staff recommends approval of this technical revision with no bond increase.
