propose to plant these nursery stock aspen during the summer of 2007, and follow their
physiology, growth, survival, and establishment through at least three growing seasons.
The experimental design for this fully replicated experiment would be an analysis of
variance (ANOVA) with sources of variation treatments consisting of weed block (fabric
or no fabric); trenching (subsoil trenching or no trenching); and irrigation (supplement
rainfall with local pond water, low EC water, or no supplemental irrigation). The
experiment would be replicated in 6 or more reclaimed fenced areas on the Seneca II-W
mine. A full proposal and study plan would be written should interest be shown in this
r---~ ~_
project.
Literature cited:
Baker, F.S. 1925.
