The folloxing comments are suggestions to clarify
points in the plan and present other areas for research consideration.
These points must be addressed and the revised plan submitted in order to
fulfill special condition No. ~ of the mining plan approval.
1. Pg. 16, Problem Domain 1 - In addition to the consideration of
cultural history, general research into the population "dynamics" at
the site, (more people fewer occupations vs. fewer people greater
reoccupation), would be an avenue of research that would play an
important role in the conclusions drawn from the other problem
domains, and should be addressed.
2. Research into seasonality should be factored into problem area 2 or
3•
3. Pg. 1~ and pg. 20 - the potentials for determining the source of the
ceramics should be discussed.
4. Pg. 18 - Specialized samples should be defined an3 the collection
strategy for all sampling presented.
5• Pg. 18 - If conditions warrant, nstural or cultural stratigraphy
should be utilized instead of arbitrary levels.
6. Pg. 19 - For sampling and comparative purposes some of the off-road
concentrations should be tested. The comparison will allow for a
validation of the sampling results.
