1111111111111111111 • •
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO: KEM' GORHAM
FROM: JANET BINN
SUBJECT: GOLDEN E C Tl NCOST,C-81-013
_~
DATE: 09/01/98
Kent, I have incorporated your comments and additional information into the
Reclamation cost estimate for the Golden Eagle Mine (C-81-013).
Task 5: Removed as per your memo dated 8/21 /98.
Ditch Removal: Costs for removal of ditches has been removed from estimate.
Task 7: No acreage figure is needed for scraper task. The cost is based upon the volume
and the average distance to be moved. The distance was determined by centroid method.
The sheet was corrected to read "Golden Eagle Mine". The material was kept as 2~%
rock 75% earth due to the general weight and swell of "earth" material in Colorado. I
could accept the azgument in an azea that is composed of sandy soils, however generally
there will be some rock component in Colorado soils so the tendency is to use the
rock/soil swell factor.
Task 15 & 16: See explanation of swell factor in explanation of Task 7.
Task 13: Corrected as per your inputs.
Task 11: Seeding and subsoiling of l2 acres removed from Task 11, and calculated as
sepazate task 17. subsoiling of the remaining 49.85 acres was removed from Task 11.
Sealing of monitoring wells: My confusion on the inclusion of water monitoring. That
has been removed. Thank you for the detail on the alluvial wells and the bedrock wells.
Costs for sealing the wells has been included as Tasks 18 and 19.
C:\j hb\team\C 8 l 013 costest.doc
i
