We are proceeding with review
of [he noted drainage concerns and mapping questions in order to provide suitable responses
which will effectively address the remaining concerns. As you are aware, be[ween the time that
the ini[ial maps of the reclaimed topography were developed and [he present, Kerr proceeded
with some interim regrading and drainage work necessary to stabilize the Pit 1 area in its
current configuration until the AOC questions could be resolved.
In conjunction with this supplemental regrading work, ground surveys were completed which
provided additional information on the existing interim regraded configuration. Evalua[ion of
this additional information, comparison wi[h [he previous mapping, and resolution of several
minor discrepancies has taken longer than originally anticipated, therefore, we are requesting an
extension of the response due date to April 14, 1995. We recognize and accept that this
extension will also result in a minor extension of the DMG's review and approval timeframe
and waive the right to decision within the stipulated regulatory interval.
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your continued cooperation and attention in resolving
the outstanding issues.
Sincerely,

Jerry Nettleton
cc: J.
