Picketwire Processing plans to salvage all <br />iron and steel scrap which is of value within these structures and remove them from the <br />mine site. Materials which can not be salvaged such as concrete, insulation, and other <br />general waste material will be disposed of on-site within the mine disturbance area. <br />These disposal areas are shown on Map 15 - Snrfaee Distarbance/Post Mining land <br />Use East Portal and Map 16 - Surface Dieturbance/Post Mining .Land Use West <br />Portal. The disposal site will be located to ensure that leachate and surface runoff do not <br />degrade surface or ground water, fiirs are prevented and that the area remAina stable and <br />suitable for reclamation compatible with the natural. surroundings. Waste material buried <br />on-site will be compacted and covered with a minimum of two foot of soil medium. <br />The coal lab and ambulance garage are sound structures and suitable for such post mining <br />uses as an office and storage facility for land management. As such, the surface owner, <br />PPI,LC, hasrequested theizretention as apost-mining facility. <br />Sediment control struetures and surface drainage ditches which are required >p route <br />water t0 the sediment ponds will be Left intact d~TMrorg the revegetation period. The <br />purpose for leaving the ponds intact will be to meet the requirements of Rule 4.05.6(9). <br />t~fter vegetation has been established sufficient to control erosion, PPLLC plans to <br />remove the sediment ponds. <br />(b) Reclamation Cost Estimate <br />A detailed reclamation cost breakdown is provided is Exhibit ZS -Bonding <br />Calculation, for the New Elk Mine. Costs are provided for removal and reclamation of <br />all facilities at the New Elk Mine. <br />(c) Baclr4'iiling and Gilding <br />Map 17 -Post Mining Topography and Cross Sections, shows the approximate final <br />surface config~sation for the New Elk Mine facilities. Map 17 shows the post mining <br />topography and cross sections in the '1X~est Portal and East Portal areas. These azeas are <br />where either benches or cut slopes exist and will require grading upon final reclamation <br /> <br />
