TRAPPER MINING INC.
June 24, 2003
Ms. Janet Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RECEIVED
JUN 2 6 2003
Division sf Minerals and Geology
Re: Trapper Mining Inc., Permit No. C-81-010, Permit Renewal RN-04/Permit,
Revision PR-O5, Response to Round III Comments
Dear Ms. Binns:
This letter responds to the PR-OS comments outlined in your letter dated June 19, 2003.
Enclosed permit page 1-7c is updated with this response.
Trapper offers the following responses to the Division's comments (letter of 6/19/03):
Response to Comment 1 (d).
As discussed with Dan Hernandez by phone on June 23, 2003, Trapper will maintain
pipeline relocation agreement documentation information on file at the mine office for
review by interested parties.
According to Trapper engineering staff, no future mining activity within close proximity
of pipeline locations is planned. Thus, my comment in our last response that "Trapper
will continue to closely monitor potential blasting impacts to pipelines situated within
and adjacent to the permit area" maybe disregarded.
Response to Comment 7.
As discussed with Dan Hernandez by phone on June 23, 2003, Trapper is in the process
of contracting with Vibra-Tech, a blasting consultant company from Austin Texas, to
monitor airblast and ground vibration impacts in the eastern portion of the mine permit
area where all of the active mining is now occurring. At a minimum, blast monitoring
will be accomplished for each active pit, with an emphasis on monitoring cast blasts.
Monitors will be set up at three different locations on the eastern and northeastern
Trapper permit boundaries and monitoring will occur over a three to four month period
beginning in July, 2003. The results of that monitoring will guide Trapper and the
Division in determining an appropriate future monitoring frequency schedule.
P.O.
