When Humphries and Mount visited our mine site last September they both
stated to us that they felt the only problems we might have with going from 3
acre permit to a 9.9 acres amended permit, was with the Cha, fJ'ee County
Board of Commissioners. After Jim and I talked we felt that maybe if the
Dept. would write a letter stating the amendment was to correct an error
that it might help with the process. Mount took it out of context. What is
Carl Mount's problem? After all it has been a mistake since day one when
William Lang signed it. Again...Bruce Humphries is giving us a FREE
AMENDMENT, now if there wasn't a mistake I know your Dept. would not
give us a free amendment! When we asked Humphries why there was so
many mistakes; he said we were just lucky! Again I ask you "What is Carl
Mount's problem"
Then this past summer we did not receive our yearly assessment paper work
by our anniversary date, I had to call. Remember we are at 12,200 feet
elevation where a cell phone doesn't work most of the time. I call and we
do the necessary paper work and mail it back to your Dept. with a check: A
couple of days later we get a notice that if we don't comply with frlling out
the form and send a check drastic measurers can take place! Again I had to
call my bank to see if the check had cleared and what my next step of
correcting this problem was going to be/ I should never have to call, this is
your Depts. Rule and it should have been done within the necessary time
scale.
We do not understand why your Dept. personal is giving us so many
problems to deal with. Jim is 69 years of age...I am 68. We have not done
anrything to cause these many problems. Do you know why? I hate to think
that is it because of money! We proved that we didn't mine the Emma Lode
site, $8, 000.00 mistake, then we proved that we didn't need an amendment
because we were not out of our 3 acres, $875.00 Could this be the reason
for all the problems?
At this time all we want is what we should have gotten when we applied for
our permit; 9.9 acres. To me this should have been noted though the years
and corrected. It should never have gone this far. Is there anything you
can do? We do not want to start arty legal action, but this just can not
continue. These problems are very costly in time cottsumption not to
mention the stress your Dept. has put us under. It has been an ongoing
problem since the summer of 2004. It's got to end!
Sincerely,
~`~ v ~ /
