[reviewed the following items; identification of interests, bond estimate, and surface
water hydrology. I have the following comments;
Identification of Interest
On December 22, 1997, I conducted an AVS check for the permit renewal. The system
recommendation was `issue.' On December 23, 1997, OSM also provided a recommendation of
`issue.' Please see attached printouts for further detail.
Reclamation Cost Estimate
I updated the Red Canyon Mine reclamation cost estimate. No new tasks were included. The
estimate was updated with 1997 equipment costs derived from the CRG and the CECG. The
bond increased slightly from $43,885.00 to $44,565.00.
Surface Water Hydrology
I reviewed the post reclamation drainage system, the permit and the 1993 findings document
regarding surface water hydrology. I have no comments that need to be directed to the operator.
Please let me know if you or the operator have any questions.
Enclosure(s)
c:\esc\misc\980102
