EXHIBIT D (Amendment) -MINING PLAN
The following describes information specific to the proposed amended area to be
mined. More general information is found in Exhibit D of the original permit
application and is referenced herein.
It is important to note that currently there is a buffer east of the Hilliard property
boundary in the original permit. This buffer was intended to provide some relief to
the Hilliards from the ensuing operations at Agri- DLD in 2000. In light of the
gravel lease agreement with the Hilliards, it is no longer necessary to maintain
this buffer. Therefore, it is proposed that this buffer area be eliminated and that
mining continue seamlessly to the west.
(a) The method of mining will be consistent with the current operation. This
primarily is with the use of a front-end loader with initial pit run haulage by
rock truck or earthmover to the existing process area. Once an area is
mined sufficiently to provide an auxiliary process site, haulage may be
eliminated.
(b} Topsoil and overburden, to the extent they are present, will be removed
with either afront-end loader or earthmover (scraper).
(c) Other than stormwater containment, no diversion or impoundment of water
is anticipated.
(d) It is anticipated that 25 acres or less will be mined at any given time
beginning at the east end and progressing west.
(e) It is expected that a 10 acre area will be mined out in 2 to 3 years; the
actual mining limits contain approximately 52 acres. Thus mining will take
place over 10-15 years depending on demand.
(f) The nature, depth and thickness are anticipated to be the same as
described in the original permit application (Exhibit D orig.).
(g) (See Exhibit D orig.)
(h) (See Exhibit D orig.)
(i) No explosives will be used in conjunction with mining.
