Exhibit B1 (page 2 of 3)
-6 •
Permeability of the Stoneham soil is iroderate. Available water capacity
is high. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or mnore. Runoff is rapid,
and the hazard of water erosion is high. the hazard of soil blowing is
high.
This unit is used mainly for native rangeland and wildlife habitat. It
is also used for gravel and road fill.
The potential plant conriunity on this unit is mainly blue grama, sideoats

gran~a, and needleandthr?ead. The average annual production of sir-dry
vegetation ranges from 900 to 1,200 pounds. If the range is Overgrazed, tha
proportim of preferred forage plants decrease and the proportim of less
pre1`erred forage plants increases. Therefore, livestock grazing sMuld be
managed so that the desired balance of preferred species is maintained in the
plant crnQnunity.
The suitability of this unit for rangeland seeding is poor. The main
limitations for seeding are slope and droughtiness. Livestock grazing should
be managed to protect the unit from excessive erosion.
This unit is poorly suited to windbreaks and environmental plantings.
The Hain limitations are slope and droughtiness.
This unit is poorly suited to hanesite development. If this unit is used
for h7nesite development, the main limitations are slope and the hazard of
erosion.
This map unit is in capability subclass VIIe. The Schamber soil is in
Gravel Breaks range site, and the Stoneham soil is in Loamy Slopes range
site.
(
