PAGE TWO
APRIL 11, 1997
DAN MATHEWS
inch. Seed Mix 'B' includes (orbs and shrubs and will be broadcast seeded. This can be
accomplished by hydro-seeding, hand broadcasting, or by use of other mechanized broadcasters and
will be done after drill seeding has been completed.
Mulch: Mulch will be applied to seeded areas following seed application. Mulch can be straw or
hydro-mulch material. If straw is used, it will be applied by spreading at the rate of 1.0 ton per aae.
If hydro-mulching is used in combination with hydro-seeding, the seed will be applied first, followed
by the hydro-mulch. Straw mulch will be crimped with a flat blade disk crimper 1/2' - 2' deep on B
to 12' centers. Hydromulch will be applied at a rate of 1500 Ib per aae with an organic tadcifier.
Addltlonal Measures: There are a number of rods piles located on top of the reclaimed area. Seed
drilling will be excluded around these piles for an area of approximately 50-75 feet (irregular) each,
with only the broadcast seed mix being applied. This is to enhance the establishment of less
competitive species of forts and shrubs.
The application rate on the seed mix table for 'galleta' assumes that the entire florets will be seeded;
the rate will be reduced to 0.5 Its/acre 'rf this is not the case.
Two copies of the Table of Contents and revised pages V-49, V-49A, V-49B and V-49C are included
for your files. I have also included a completed revision form. I trust this letter accurately reflects the
understanding reached among us.
